Sunshine Heroes, in partnership with Give & Surf, has expanded the Sunshine Children's Center in Bastimentos, Panama, offering educational, health, and safety programs to over 3,000 people annually. The center includes a classroom, library, computer lab, health clinic, playground, and a skate park, serving as the first community center and public computer lab on the island.

After playing college ball at Utah Valley State College and Brigham Young University, Hansen was drafted No. 37 overall in the NBA draft and joined the Atlanta Hawks. He would go on to play basketball in professional European leagues before he retired in September 2011. Helaunched Tesani Capital in 2013.

Former BYU basketball star Travis Hansen is honored in Y Magazine for his outstanding post-athletic career as a humanitarian and entrepreneur. After playing professionally in the NBA and Europe, Hansen founded the Sunshine Heroes Foundation, which has helped build children's centers around the world. He's also made significant strides in business as the founder of tech company Tesani. His work reflects a deep commitment to service, family, and community—values rooted in his BYU experience.

Sunshine Heroes Foundation, in partnership with Nature's Sunshine Products and local community members, provided over 1,000 Christmas gifts to 62 local families in need. Volunteers wrapped, organized, and delivered gifts including clothing, household items, and essential supplies to make the holiday season brighter for those who need it most.

Sunshine Heroes has partnered with the Nicaragua Children's Foundation to open the Sunshine Center in Ojochal, providing vital services such as a library, health clinic, playground, and community meeting space. This project will impact 3,000 people annually, offering access to education and healthcare in a region with limited resources.

Sunshine Heroes Foundation, in partnership with the Raintree Foundation, has successfully provided Bio-Sand water filters to remote Karen Hill Tribe villages in northern Thailand. This initiative, completed in early 2013, will provide clean, sanitary water to 4,000 individuals each year for the next 20 years.
