A closer look at what we’re building, learning, and celebrating

Sunshine Heroes continues its transformative work in Bocas Del Toro, Panama, with the completion of a new Sunshine Center in collaboration with local partner Give & Surf. This facility will provide vital educational programs and community services, impacting over 10,000 people. The center features a kitchen, library, playground, computer lab, and more, supporting initiatives in hygiene, healthy living, and vocational training.

As a child, Karli Sue VerHoef was a quadriplegic. At the time, she was told she always would be. She came to appreciate how she depended on others for help. When she recovered, she considered it such a gift that she has devoted her life to serving children.

Hansen spoke to KSL Sports from Provo,where he leads Tesani, a holding company for a variety of businesses and startups spearheaded by the Orem native. His current project isEddy HR, a human resources software platform that utilizes artificial intelligence to simplify companies' HR needs.

When we survey employees for the annual Best Companies to Work For program, we ask them their attitudes about four categories: benefits, leadership and management, opportunities for growth, and company culture. Travis Hansen learned leadership during nearly two decades on the basketball court for UVU, BYU and the NBA. Now he’s fast breaking on the wave of entrepreneurism. “Surfers paddle 90 percent of the time, and 10 percent of the time they get to ride the wave,” Hansen says. “We call those moments our ‘Tesani moments’ and we create them inside our companies.”
