FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

PROVO, Utah — July 22, 2025 — Brigham Young University announced today that Travis Hansen, founder and chairman of Tesani and former BYU basketball star, has been appointed Senior Associate Athletic Director. In this strategic leadership role, Hansen will oversee BYU’s Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL) efforts, revenue-sharing model, and both men’s and women’s basketball programs.

“Travis is a dynamic leader with a unique blend of athletic, business, and mentorship experience,” said Brian Santiago, BYU’s Deputy Athletic Director. “He brings deep insight into the evolving landscape of college athletics, and we’re excited to welcome him back to BYU in this capacity.”

Hansen, who played at BYU from 2000–2003 and went on to a successful NBA and international basketball career, has spent the last decade building Tesani, a Utah-based private equity and holding company. Tesani’s growing portfolio includes companies such as Eddy, TIG Insurance, Lift, and Irvine.

Hansen will continue serving as Chairman of Tesani, providing strategic oversight, leading M&A activity, and supporting executive teams across the portfolio.

“I’m honored to return to BYU and contribute to a program that means so much to me,” said Hansen. “I’m also deeply committed to Tesani’s mission and future. This new chapter lets me do both—give back to the BYU community and keep building great businesses with people I believe in.”

Hansen's new dual role represents a unique intersection of sports, leadership, and innovation, uniting his passion for athletics with his proven business acumen.
