Sunshine Heroes Partners with Utah County Children’s Justice Center to Renovate Therapy Rooms and Support New Location
In 2017, Sunshine Heroes partnered with the Utah County Children’s Justice Center to renovate therapy rooms in Provo, Utah, helping create a safe and healing environment for children. The organization also raised $5,000 to cover the first year of rent for the CJC’s new location in Nephi, Utah.
Provo & Nephi, Utah – In 2017, Sunshine Heroes Foundation partnered with the Utah County Children’s Justice Center (CJC) on two impactful projects designed to help children in crisis. The CJC works to reduce the trauma children face when involved in child abuse investigations, providing a safe space for them to share their stories and begin the healing process.
As part of the partnership, Sunshine Heroes volunteered to paint and redesign two interview rooms at the CJC’s Provo location. These rooms are essential for helping children feel comfortable and secure during difficult interviews, making it easier for them to speak openly. The renovations will create a more calming, supportive environment for future victims of abuse, helping them feel safe enough to begin their emotional recovery.
In addition to the therapy room renovation, Sunshine Heroes played a pivotal role in helping the CJC relocate by raising $5,000 in just one day, with the generous support of the local community. This fundraising effort covered the first year of rent for their new location in Nephi, Utah, ensuring that the CJC can continue providing critical services to children and families in need.
“We are incredibly grateful to the Utah County Children’s Justice Center for the important work they do to support children and families,” said a representative from Sunshine Heroes. “We are proud to have been able to help make their spaces safer and more welcoming, and to ensure that they can continue their mission in Nephi.”
