Biography
David Arganda is 13 yrs old and lives in Carlsbad CA, just blocks from Tamarack Beach. He is in the 7th grade and attends Valley Middle School with a 3.5 GPA. David was born in Carlsbad and started surfing at the age of 7 and starting competing in Longboard events at the age of 10. His local surf breaks are Terra Mar, South Tamarack, Pipes, and the Oceanside Harbor. His favorite surf spot is “Cardiff Reef”.
In the 2007 ISF California State Middle School Championships, David finished 1st place in the Longboard division.
In the San Diego County ISF Middle School Championships David finished

5th in the Short Board.
(David was one of only two Middle School competitors to finish in the
top ten in both divisions.)

2007 was also David’s first season competing in the short board and
will be a strong contender moving forward in both the long and
short board.
David achieved one of his long term goals he set in early 2006, which
was to compete and finish high in his first year in NSSA Jr. In 2007, David set
a new NSSA Jr record with eight straight first place wins in the Middle
School Longboard division and was the season high point’s leader
in all the NSSA Jr. age group divisions.
When David is not riding one of his 9’ Guy Takayama Long boards or his
fish which he does just about everyday, he is hanging out on the
beach with his sketch pad, sketching waves and tubes or just skateboarding
with one of his buddies.
He is currently sponsored by Guy Takayama Surf Design and Tesani Clothing.
David would like to take his surfing as far as it can take him, get
his college degree and maybe become a Firefighter, Dentist or Surfboard
Shop owner, because these professions would give him the flexibility
to surf daily for the rest of his life.
